Anoushka Shankar

Anoushka Shankar is a British-American sitar player and music artist. She was first within her age bracket to receive an award from the British House of Commons Staff. Anoushka is the emerging star of Indian sitar. She is the student of Ravi Shankar as well as his daughter of Ravi Shankar. She was born in 1982 in London. Her childhood years were split in London in London and New Delhi. In New Delhi, she made her debut at just thirteen years of age. When she moved to Encinitas the state of California, in 1999 she earned an honorary high school diploma. Anouskha continues to have a bright performing and recording careers, even though she's young. She frequently joins her father during performances, something she has been doing for quite a few years. She released her debut album in 1998. released Anourag as her first solo record. The Grammy Award-winning Live at Carnegie Hall was released two years after her debut solo album. Apart from performing in many of the biggest venues as well, she has an extensive stage presence. Anoushka isn't just a musician. Bapi The of My Life of My Live is her 2002 novel, and was a tribute Ravi Shankar. In 2003, she was a part as a character in Dance Like a Man as a Bharat Natyam artist. Anoushka shankar is a rising celebrity and her popularity will continue to grow. Anoushka was a frequent traveler and spent lots of her time in London and Delhi in her early years. Later, she moved to California to finish high school. At the age of 9, she started studying music with her father. Her first performance with the Sitar was during her birthday celebrations for her 75th birthday in Delhi, four years after. Anoushka was able to gain a great deal of experience touring across the globe along with her dad. She appeared in Carnegie Hall in her teenage period, as well as recorded for George Harrison's WOMAD Festival. She was the youngest and sole female to receive the House of Commons Shield awarded by British Parliament in recognition of her talent and musical ability as an outstanding musician from the Asian Arts.
